  • Two CASF unserved area funding resolutions are
    on todays Commission meeting agenda. These are
  • Resolution T-17187 (Agenda Item 57) for Approval
    of Funding for the Highway 299 Broadband Network
    Project of Broadband Associates International,
    Inc., Amounting to 7,830,720
  • Resolution T-17195 (Agenda Item 58) Approval of
    Funding for Four ATT Projects Amounting to
    216,832

B. Resolution T-17195
  • Recommends CASF funding of 216,832 to ATT for
    the following unserved area projects
  • Project Plan High speed, stand alone, internet
    access service using existing DSL technology and
    where ATT CA has wireline facilities 1.5 MBPS
    download and 384 KBPS upload

  • Assuming these two resolutions are adopted, the
    total CASF grants awarded to date to unserved
    areas is as follows
  • 8.4 million for 11 projects
  • Projects collectively cover approximately 1,100
    square miles of unserved areas
  • Projects collectively benefits approximately
    7,500 households
  • The award of CASF funds for unchallenged
    underserved projects is scheduled for the March
    12, 2009 Commission meeting.
  • Other applications for both challenged unserved
    and underserved areas are being evaluated by the
    Communications Division and will be presented to
    the Commission in future meetings.
