Rhythm

• the organization of time in music including
  beats, accents, measures grouping of notes into
  beats and measures.

Beat

• Beat they fall into regular groups of 2s or
  3s or a combination of these silent beat,
  down-beat, up-beat, steady and un-steady beat.

Click Track

• Click Track a recorded audible click heard
  during recording in order to assist the performer
  in keeping the beat steady.

Metronome

• Metronome a device used to keep a steady beat
  at various tempos.

Tempo

• Tempo speed at which a musical piece is played.

Triplets / Duration

• Triplets three notes played divided equally on
  one beat.
• Duration length of time a musical note is
  played.

Changing Tempo

• Ritardando gradually slowing down of the music.

• Rubato robbed time from one measure and made up
  in another.
• Tenuto sustained for the full amount of the

• Eighth Note receives one half of a beat in 4/4

• Whole Note receives four beats in 4/4 time.

Rest / Time Signature

• Rest silent beat you are silent but still
  count.
• Time Signature Shows how many beats are in a
  measure, and which note gets one beat.

• Tie joins/adds the time of consecutive notes
  together.
• Fine the end
