Settlers Move West

• After the Revolutionary War, our country grew
  fast.
• Explorers wanted to map the land so that people
  could find ways to move west.

• Lewis and Clark traveled west to map the country.
  
• They brought back stories of a rich and beautiful
  land.

Pioneers

• Pioneers were the first people to move west and
  lead the way.
• They wanted more land and resources.

• They packed their things and moved west.
• They traveled in covered wagons and in wagons
  trains.

Life on the Trail

• Pioneers had many problems.
• Hot sun.
• No shade on the plains.
• Blizzards and windstorms.

• Many pioneers settled on Native Americans land.

What We Learned
