Activity 1 Manipulating charts

• Work in pairs. 30 min
• Spreadsheet with data and a graph on motion.
• User can change the value in the red cells
  and see how the graph changes.
• Examine the example and establish how the
  formulae work.
• Formulae make use of the values in K7 or K8.
• Use the tool and discuss how this is useful for
  teaching scientific principles.

Activity 2 Challenge

• Work in new pairs. 70 min
• Produce a learning tool similar to the one
  shown in the previous example.
• Use a spreadsheet to plot an interactive
  graph representing the relationship between two
  or more sets of data.
• Develop a task for your classes in which the
  graph drawn can be used with the learners.

Activity 3 Sharing

• Meet as class or in larger groups. 20 min
• Show and give feedback.
• Make a note of ways in which you could improve
  the learning tool.

Work between workshops

• Adapt and use some of the spreadsheets.
• Illustrate principles to learners.
• Have their learners manipulate and learn from
  the tools.
