The Beginning

• IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) was medical process
  that was developed in the 1970s to help couples
  conceive a child when typical conceptions did not
  work.
• The process was developed in England and became
  better known as the test tube baby.
• Before IVF couples relied on medications or
  invasive surgeries.
• The success rate for these other procedures were
  very low.

Present

• IVF is one of several treatments used for
  infertility.
• Other treatments are IUI, GIFT, and ZIFT.
• IVF can be less invasive.
• IVF has a higher rate of success for conception
  and full term pregnancy.

Future

• With advancements in medical technology IVFs
  success rate are getting greater and the chances
  for high number of multiple births are lowering.
• Couples who thought they would never conceive
  even with other treatments are having success.
