Trial-and-Error is a particularly good method if
a problem has a limited number of answers.

• Try this one! Record the answer on notebook
  paper.
• Problem 1 Which of the numbers 4, 5, and 6 is
  a solution to (n3)(n-2) 36?

When you work with Trial-and-Error, your wrong
answers sometimes help you to see patterns.
These patterns many times lead you to the correct
answer.

• Draw a polygon that has 9 diagonals. How many
  sides does this polygon have?
