Insert A Table
  • From the Objects toolbar, select the Insert Table
    button.

Create A Table
  • The Create table dialog box is accessed after the
    table has been inserted, or from the Table menu.
  • From the table menu select, Insert ? Table.
  • From the dialog box you can indicate the number
    or columns and rows needed as well as the table
    format/design.

Creating Tables From Existing Text
  • When inserting existing text, commas or tabs must
    separate each item designated for columns, and
    categoryies are to be separated by paragraphs to
    form rows.
  • Inserting data is as simple as cutting and
    special pasting.

Insert, Select, And Delete Columns And Rows
  • The first three menu options are Insert, Delete
    and Select.
  • Each of these options have a sub-menu of tasks
    that can be performed with the associated
    command.

Merge And Split Cells
  • To merge cells is to combine multiple cells into
    one column or row.
  • To split cells is to separate them.

Apply Cell Diagonals
  • The cell diagonal feature allows you to split a
    cell.
  • Publisher gives you the option of dividing the
    cell down or dividing the cell upwards.
  • To divide all of the table cells select and
    highlight the entire table.

Auto Formatting Tables
  • The Table AutoFormat feature is located under the
    Table menu, and allows you to select a table
    style.
  • You can also apply or change different formats
    such as borders, patterns and shading, and text
    aligning and formatting.

Fill Down And Fill Right
  • Filling down and filling right will take the
    contents from one cell and copy them into
    another.
  • Select the cell that contains the data you want
    to copy into the bottom or right cell, and select
    either fill down or fill right from the Table
    menu.

Color And Lines
  • Under Fill you can apply fill effects, solid
    colors and set transparency.

Table Fill Effects
  • Under Fill Color we can access the Fill Effects
    dialog box.
  • A fill effects can be one color to two colors,
    Textures, Patterns, pictures and Tint.
  • If you have decided to choose a color, shading
    styles can be applied.

Cell Properties
  • Cell properties are where we can position text
    within the cells.
