BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT HRM CoP
- Established in Sarajevo at the 1st Regional
Workshop on CS reform in the Western Balkans
(September 2006). - Officially inaugurated at the 2nd Regional
Workshop in Budva (11 and 12 October 2007). - Gathers civil servants from the sub-region and
others with an interest in HRM (academics, NGO
reps., experts). -
- Led by UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina supported by
BRC.

WHY THE WESTERN BALKANS REGION?
a) The same tradition of public administration
(except for Albania) b) Very similar present
challenges and problems (efforts to modernise
public administration) c) Common final goal
EU membership - Still, in spite of all the
similarities, civil servants have had no platform
to interact and, indeed, they rarely even spoke
to each other.

ACTIVITIES
- Exchange of knowledge and experience
- - Electronic interaction (using e-mail, IT
platform, phone) - - Periodic meetings of the Resource group
- - Annual (thematic) meeting of the CoP members
- Developing new initiatives
- - Research, newsletter, policy development,
compilation of experiences and/or best practices
in the region, other ways of codifying knowledge.
