Title: Virtual laboratory OF TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES CONTROL
1Virtual laboratoryOF TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES
CONTROL
- Department of Electrical, Mechatronic and
Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Electrical
Engineering and Informatics, Technical University
of Košice, Slovak Republic
2A virtual laboratory is physically situated in
two faculties FEI TU in Kosice and FEI STU in
Bratislava
Joint virtual laboratory is dedicated to
technological process control via small logic
controllers, which present the main tools used
at basic level of automation of mechatronic
systems and technological processes.
3The main aim is to involve a design aspect.
- Because a virtual laboratory presents a new
e-learning tool in which the experiments should
not be only analysis oriented (to measure and see
the results) but also synthesis oriented.
4Educational Objectives
- 1) To make the students familiar with
- Projecting of the systems with small logic
controller (SLC ) - Programming of the SLC and visualisation
of the system performance - 2) To enable students to get practical
experiences with - Design and debugging of controlling
algorithms for SLC - Control of real processes
5The general structural scheme of the virtual
laboratory
6The main assets of building the virtual
laboratory will be that
- VL will serve for teaching subjects related to
automation, control and visualization of
technological processes -
7The benefits for students
- The higher quality of teaching
- Higher attractiveness of study
- Possibility of unlimited access to solution of
automation tasks in terms of time - Increase in practical knowledge and experience
with the design and implementation of
technological process control systems based on
logic controllers
