  • Communication may occur simultaneously at many
    levels, in addition to the content of what is
    said
  • Every communication has a content and
    relationship aspect.

  • More of the same problems arise when logical
    solutions fail, so the solution is used again
    more intensely
  • More of the same usually results in first-order
    change
  • Second order change appears weird, unexpected,
    and uncommonsensical.

    particular situation therapists job is to help
    them get in touch with these solutions.
  • Client has capacity to stop problemnon-pathologic
    al perspective.
  • The entire problem doesnt need to be modified,
    only some small portion of it.
  • Language is extremely important with this theory.
