History

• Was founded by Leonard Bosack and Sandra Lerner,
  December 1984
• They were a couple working at a Stanford
  University
• Was found in Menlo Park in California
• Got name by shortening San Francisco
• Ciscos first product was the Internetworking
  router.

• First product was sold in 1986
• In they only had 8 employees and was selling
  250,000 worth of routers
• A year later they started targeting larger
  companies
• Bosack and Lerner got Donald T. Valentine to
  invest money in there company
• Donald got control of company and fired Lerner so
  Bosack quit.

• Donald became chairperson and made John Morgridge
  president
• In 1993 Cisco made a new product the, Cisco 7000
  router
• Ciscos headquarters was moved to San Jose,
  California
