Chapter 1

• Its Frances Alphonse Tuckets 15 birthday. He
  gets a brand new custom made rifle. He stays
  behind the wagon train to shoot his rifle.
  Indians take his rifle, knock him out and take
  him to there camp.

Chapter 2

• He gets dragged around camp and everybody
  introduced themselves by kicking him. He wrestles
  with three Indian boys.

Chapter 3

• He tries to escape three times in three weeks.
  They decide to move camp. But before they move
  they raid the people in his wagon train.He hears
  that Jason Grimes,a mountain man, is coming to
  there camp.

Chapter 4

• When Jason Grimes arrives Francis sees him and he
  hells Im captive. At night Jason comes with a
  black mare for him to ride out of the camp on.

Chapter 5

• As he rode the mare out of the camp he must have
  fell ten times. He does what Mr. Grimes said and
  went up the river for three miles and collapsed.

• He wakes up and Mr. Grimes is there. They talk a
  bought how Mr. Grimes met the Pawnees.

• Mr. Grimes teaches Francis how to shoot a rifle
  and how to survive in the plains.

• They head toward village and Francis decides to
  stay there before he arrives. When he arrives he
  discovers it is a Sioux village.

• When he arrives hes not so sure if he wants to
  stay. Mr. Grimes tries to get him a horse , but
  the only way he can get a horse is if Francis
  Wrestles the toughest boy in the village. The
  match lasts a bought half an hour.

Chapter 10

• Hes not sure if he wants to go with Mr.
  Grimes or stay in the Sioux village. Mr. Grimes
  wakes him up early in the morning to pick out his
  horse. The chief already picked out a horse for
  him when he got there. He gets on then the chief
  slaps the mare and the mare goes running through
  the village with Francis on.

Chapter 11

• They were riding when Mr. Grimes saw a herd of
  antelope a mile away. He tells Francis to go down
  by them and wave a white flag. He does. Two
  antelope come up by him. He shoots at one. It
  falls straight down.

Chapter 12

• They rode for a week at easy pace saving the
  horses. They rode until they came to Spot
  Johnnie's ,a friend of Mr. Grimes. They had a
  nice meal and slept by a warm fireplace.

Chapter 13

• They stayed there for three days. They had
  shooting contests and wrestled.Then on the fourth
  day they packed up the horses and left.

Chapter 14

• They arrive at the swamp and Mr. Grimes goes
  around to count the beaver while Francis makes
  hoops to stretch the beaver hides. He sees two
  men riding horses toward the hut.

Chapter 15

• They get off there horses. Francis stalled them
  until Mr. Grimes came. They turned out to be some
  of Mr. Grimes Friends.

Chapter 16

• They set the traps and on all the little frozen
  ponds.Then came back to the first one then the
  second one until the checked all the traps and
  got back at eight in the morning after checking
  twenty-six traps. They slept until noon. They did
  that for five days until they had two hundred
  beaver hides.

Chapter 17

• They where going to rest for a week but when
  Francis was getting wood he ran into four
  Indians.He heads toward camp with Mr. Grimes
  firing at the Indians.

Chapter 18

• They leave right away. Only taking a few things.
  The two Indians came to the camp and dismounted.
  They decided to stay at the camp for a while.

Chapter 19

• They get trapped in a big snow storm. Franciss
  mare collapsed. They decided to stay there for
  the night. They pushed the horses over and then
  covered up with all the beaver hides they had.

Chapter 20

• They rode for about 17 miles then stopped to
  build a fire and eat. They where up early the
  next morning and saw Spot Johnnie's but there was
  a little more smoke than usual. The smoke got
  thicker as they moved closer.

Chapter 21

• They stopped on s small ridge and saw the whole
  town on fire.They found Spots house on fire.Mr.
  Grimes left Francis to a near by wagon train that
  was heading toward Oregon.Mr. Grimes heads off to
  kill Braid.

Chapter 22

• Mr. Grimes left. Then after he left Francis
  followed him. He found him just in time to see
  him kill Braid.
