Lesson Objective
  • Students will be able to identify the wrong
    running mechanics
  • Students will be able to explain the right
    techniques to run properly
  • Students will be able to graph together a work
    plan for fixing the problem

Lesson Introduction
  • Define the proper mechanics to running.
  • Video on professional runners and past students
    with proper mechanics.
  • Introduce students to the Biomechanics' software

Stimulus
  • Students will
  • Be grouped into groups of two.
  • Video type their partners running.
  • Convert their video image of partners into 3D
    figures on computer using the Biomechanics'
    software.

Stimulus Continued
  • Compare their partners 3D figure side by side
    with 3D figures of professional runners or past
    student with proper running mechanics.
  • Chart down their findings and then make a workout
    plan to fix the problem if there is one.
  • Retake their partners running and 3D figure two
    weeks before semester is over to see if there is
    any improvement.

Lesson Closure
  • Students will present their findings to class.
  • Students will present their solutions.
  • Students will be tested on the proper procedures
    leading up to the conclusion and solution.

Follow up
  • Group discussion on if their was any changes in
    the first typing to the second one.
  • Group discussion on if their workout plan helped
    their partner on improving his running mechanics.
  • Group discussion on the use of technology in a
    Kinesiology class.
