already meeting grade level reading goals - The students who did not attend struggle in first
grade and receive remedial support

- 100 of the students achieved DRP goals with 45
reading at an advanced level - 80 of the students that did not attend met the
average with 20 achieving below grade level
expectations with no advanced students

level - While the majority of students who didnt attend
T1 are at the average level they are performing
on a bell curve

- T1 students have kept pace with the grade level
in math - 84 of the T1 students met the state goal
- 50 of the students who did not attend fell in
the basic or below level compared to 17 of the
T1 students

- 50 of the T1 students have met Brookfields goal
in reading on the CMT - 0 of the students who didnt attend T1 where
able to meet Brookfields reading standard

initially are weak in kindergarten and take
advantage of the transitional first grade program
perform higher on standardized tests long range
compared to the students who were recommended and
did not attend. This level two response to
intervention enabled poorer performing students
to progress in reading, writing and math and
maintain the gains for at least 5 years.
