10Drinking Water Quality Standard
1- To ensure that drinking water will be safe in
the future, that there are no health risks to the
public. 2- To serve as a basis for design
planning of water supply treatment. 3-To provide
a benchmark for assessing long-term trends in the
performance of the water supply system.

14Urban Water Supply Challenges
- Dry season water shortage in several Provinces
Sihanouk Ville, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham,
Battambong, ... - Water sources degradation from domestic wastes.
- Network bacteria contamination, because of old
pipeline. - The blooming of the private sector with a lack of
experience and education. - No EIA for small scale water supply projects
