In 1999, US teenagers under age 18 were involved
in 9 of murder arrests, 14 of aggravated
assault arrests, 33 of burglary arrests, 25 of
robbery arrests, 24 of weapons arrests. Why are
some teens involved in these activities? What
are the pressures on teens to engage in criminal
behavior? What do you think could be done about
these problems?

How can you show respect for someone you
strongly disagree with about something that is
very important to both of you? Give examples and
discuss why this is so difficult.
What are some ways that we justify disrespecting
a person or groups of people? Why do we do that?
What is the best way to deal with situations
where one feels completely disrespected by
someone else. Include a list of steps students
can take to resolve conflicts peacefully.
