Resume Tips

• Bring multiple copies AND multiple drafts/formats
  to fit specific companies or positions
• Use resume paper when possible
• Bring a red or other colored pen

Business Card How-To

• Name, Major, Graduation Date (expected), NCSU,
  email and/or phone
• Keep it easy to read, but feel free to be
  creative
• MS Word, paper, copy store

During the ExpoPlay by Play

1. Visit tables of companies you researched and/or
   are interested in (be prepared to wait in line).
2. Extend hand with a firm grip and introduce
   yourself with confidence (your commercial).
3. Ask the intelligent questions you prepared.
4. Offer your resume. (but dont be offended if they
   tell you to apply/send it online)
5. Pick up brochures and other written materials on
   the booth ask for business card or contact info.
6. Thank him or her for the time and express
   appreciation.
7. Make notes when you leave the booth.

After the ExpoI made it! Now what?

• Youre not done yet
• Follow up no more than a week later with thank
  you letters.
• Keep in touch with the contacts you made you
  never know when you may want to cross that bridge.

Things to Keep in Mind

• The real world is not organized by major or minor
• You want to stand outin a GOOD way!
• Its a recruiters job to talk to YOU take
  advantage!
• This is your chance to display interpersonal and
  communication skills. Personality and ability to
  connect are crucial.
• Act professionally at all times you never know
  whos watching. Aim to be viewed as someone who
  could easily transition into a business setting.
• Confidence Fake it until you make it!
