About skills audits

• Skill audits help groups to assess the knowledge
  and skills they already have and identify gaps
  that need to be filled.

• A skills audit can sometimes be referred to as a
  learning needs assessment (LNA) or training needs
  assessment (TNA)

Existing skills and knowledge

• Many group members have skills and knowledge that
  are unknown to others in their group.

• A skills audit means groups can recognise what
  they already know and celebrate the contribution
  individuals make, either now or in the future.

Gaps in skills and knowledge

• Where there are gaps in a groups skills and
  knowledge, think about these things -

• Can that skill / knowledge be gained through
  training?

• Can the skill / knowledge be obtained by
  recruiting additional group members?

• Is the skill / knowledge gap temporary and
  resolved by using a consultant?

Were not all the same!

• Luckily members of groups arent all the same. We
  each bring our own set of skills and knowledge.

Even small amounts of skill or knowledge are
important to contribute.
Remember! All groups need a range of talents to
work effectively as a team.
