ENVIRONMENT REFERENCE LABORATORY
Environment Reference Laboratory located at
the 5th km. of Gölbasi Haymana road, works under
Department of Analysis and Inspection.

STRUCTURE OF ENVIRONMENT REFERENCE LABORATORY

In 1990, a financial agreement was signed
between Turkey and EU.
According to the Agreement, 2,5 Million Euro
worth equipment and supplies were donated to
Turkey by EU for the purpose of analysing and
monitoring of environmental polution with the
condition of Turkey establishing the facilities.

SAMPLE RECEPTION AND REPORTING UNIT

• Registration and Control of Samples
• Distribution of samples to the relevant
  Laboratories
• Preparation of analysis report according to the
  results.
• Keeping records of analysis results.
• Cooperation and coordination with the Provincial
  Directorates of Ministry of Environment and
  Forestry and other sample owners from various
  sectors on proper sampling techniques and
  procedures.

WATER LABORATORY

• To analyze samples sent by Provincial
  Directorates according to the provisions of the
  Regulation on Water Pollution Control.
• Short and long term water pollution monitoring

FUEL LABORATORY

• To analyze the samples according to the
  requirements of the provisions mentioned in the
  regulation on air pollution caused by use of
  liquid and solid fuels
• Analysis of parameters which will be used for
  coal imports
• Gas and diesel oil analysis

AIR QUALITY AND NOICE LABORATORY

• Data procesing system for air pollution
  monitoring is established at the centre.
• 34 permanent stations are establihed at
  Provinces for monitoring air quality. These
  stations sents information to the data procesing
  system .

CERTIFICATION OF OTHER LABORATORIES

• Proficience Certificates of other public and
  private laboratories which conduct analysis
  concerning environmental parameters are given by
  our Laboratory.
• So far, 45 laboratories were certified in
  Turkey.
