3Content
- As classroom practitioners we understand the
importance of streamlined lesson preparation and
enhanced lesson materials that can be readily
integrated into classroom programmes. The
interactive whiteboard technology benefits
learners and educators. - We will showcase ways to benefit learners through
pupil engagement, learner motivation and
knowledge retention. There will be examples of
dynamic interaction through the use of student's
favourite technologies keeping them focused and
on task. We will provide examples of how
different learning styles are catered for. - There are also benefits for educators as the
efficient use of interactive whiteboards assist
in lesson preparation. They are easy for
beginners to walk up and use, shortening lesson
integration time. We will provide motivation to
teachers to incorporate and develop more digital
and interactive resources.

5Making A Difference
6 One day a man was walking along the seashore.
He noticed that during the night many seashells
and starfish had washed upon the shore. Enjoying
the morning sun and cool sea air, the man
strolled for miles along the sand.
7Far off in the distance, he saw a small figure
dancing. The man was joyous that someone was
celebrating life in such a grand and uninhibited
manner. As he drew closer, however, it became
apparent that perhaps the figure was not dancing,
but perhaps repeatedly performing some ritual.
8Approaching the small figure, the man noticed
that it was a child. The girl was methodically
picking up starfish from the shore and tossing
them back into the surf. The man paused for a
moment, puzzled, then asked, Why are you
throwing those starfish?
9 If I leave these starfish on the beach,
she replied, The sun will dry them, and they
will die. So Im throwing them back into the
ocean because I want them to live.
10 The man was quiet for a moment, impressed
with the childs thoughtfulness. Then he
motioned up and down the miles and miles of beach
and said, There must be millions of starfish
along here! How can you possibly expect to make
a difference?
11 The young girl pondered the mans words
for a moment, then she slowly leaned over,
reached down, and carefully picked up another
starfish from the sand. Pulling back, she arched
the starfish gently into the surf.
12She turned to the man and smiled. You may be
right, she said, But I made a difference for
that one.
13Our goal is to help you make a difference in
your Interactive Whiteboard integration.
