  • Less time consuming prosecution process

What are FPs and Deposits
  • Fixed Penalties issued for majority of offences.
  • Overloading and Drivers Hours offences graduated
    upon severity.
  • More serious offending e.g. false records are
    prosecuted.
  • Deposit (payable immediately) required where no
    satisfactory UK address provided.

    problem Issue FP (should have been picked up by
    operator driver is agent of operator)
  • Headlamp bulb out, rainy foggy day No FP issued
    (although immediate prohibition), but defect
    likely to have occurred on current journey and
    would not have been necessarily have been picked
    up driving the vehicle).
