What will your child learn in 6th grade science?

Assignments!
  • Homework assignments will be recorded daily in
    student agendas and are available online.
  • Homework assignments not turned in by the due
    date will be counted late. A students grade
    will drop one letter grade for each day past the
    due date.
  • All students making a conscientious effort to
    accurately complete a homework assignment will
    not receive a grade below 50.
  • Students have a period equivalent to the number
    of days missed to complete make-up assignments.
  • Students can obtain missed assignments from their
    TEAMS FOLDER. It is YOUR CHILDS RESPONSIBILITY
    to get those assignments and make up the work.

Grades!
  • Daily assignments (yellow) count once.
  • Quizzes (orange) count twice.
  • Major (purple) assignments count three times.
  • Labs and projects may be counted as a daily,
    quiz, or major grade.
  • There will be no EXTRA CREDIT.

Test Corrections and Error Analysis
  • Students will have the opportunity to evaluate
    mistakes made on a test/quiz , excluding labs or
    projects by thoroughly completing an error
    analysis sheet.
  • Students may receive up to a grade of 70 if all
    criteria on the Error Analysis sheet is met. A
    grade of 70 is not guaranteed.

What is the 3-Minute Drill?
1. After the tardy bell rings, the timer
begins with 3-minutes. 2. Principal
Investigators retrieve team spirals and
folders. 3. Attendance Secretary takes
attendance. 4. Students may talk softly to one
another, but must get ready for class. 5.
STUDENTS MAY NOT SPEAK TO THE TEACHER UNLESS
IT IS AN EMERGENCY!

Preparing for Class during the 3-Minute Drill
  • Students find their seats, place materials on
    table and sharpen pencils.
  • STUDENTS MAY NOT SPEAK TO MRS. WILLIAMSON UNLESS
    IT IS AN EMERGENCY!!!

What if there is a homework assignment due today?
  • Every day Principle Investigators immediately
    pick up team spirals and folders.
  • Students should take out any homework, check for
    proper heading, and give it to Principle
    Investigator to place in team folder.

What do students do now that they are in their
seats, pencils sharpened, and homework turned in?
  • Students look at the active board to determine
    items needed on the desk.
  • All other items are cleared from the table except
    for team folders and spirals.
  • Homework is written down in the agendas.
  • Agenda monitors stamp agendas.

Can students speak to the teacher yet?NO!
  • Timekeeper will announce the end of the 3-Minute
    Drill.
  • At this time, students will QUIETLY await the
    secretarys announcements for the days
    activities.

Will Mrs. Williamson ever say hello to the class?
  • After the secretary sits down, Mrs. Williamson
    will finally greet the class and review todays
    activities and Bell Ringer.
