Accessing Your EFinance Reports
  • Access the link
  • www.nyumc.net/nyu/index.jsp
  • Select Web Applications
  • EFinance
  • Login with Kerberos Id and Email password
  • Bookmark the address

  • The default screen will appear upon logging in
    as shown below
  • Click on Views from the default screen. It will
    then prompt you will available views with
    your access ID
  • Select Efinance SOM Temporary Reports

  • This screen allows you to select which Standard
    report you like to run
  • Once the report is selected it will prompt you
    with selection criteria
  • Select Active report icon and run the report

Active Report Overview
  • HTML Active Report is a report that is designed
    for offline analysis
  • Interact with the data, using analysis similar to
    those found in an Excel workbook, without any
    connection to a server.
  • You could save the report on a local machine
  • When working with active report , you can
  • Filter or highlight data
  • Sort data within any column in ascending or
    descending order
  • Apply calculations to columns and choose the
    location to display results
  • Control the display of data by hiding columns,
    freezing columns, limiting the number of rows per
    page, and using graphic visulization to compare
    columns values
  • Create a variety of simple or advanced charts
    (pie, line, bar, or scatter) and roll-up tables
  • Apply a global filter on multiple reports within
    the same HTML page
  • Export report data and chart data
  • Restore original report settings

  • Run Report Buttons
  • Each of these give you the ability to run your
    selected report
  • If in doubt about the data in the screen re-run
    the report

    and subtotal. Online data view and manipulation

Selection Panes
  • Standard AP Activity Report
  • Access is limited to Chart field security
  • Click down arrow twice for selection criteria
  • All selection will result in all available
    within your access
  • Always enter a start date Preferable from the
    calendar selection

  • Depending on how your HTML Active report has been
    set up, some options may not be available in your
    report

Reporting Basics Adding Comments
The image below shows the context menu for a row
in the Active Report Output.
Select the row of data that you want to add a
comment for, click and select Comments from the
context menu. Type comment and click Add Comment
  • To view existing comments
  • Click row with comments, and select Comment from
    the context menu
  • Comment dialog box appears with comment entry and
    the date it was created.

Comments cannot be edited but they can be
deleted

Reporting Basics Deleting Comments
  • To delete and existing comment
  • Click the row with comments and select Comments
    from the context menu
  • Click the X next to the comment date and entry.
    (The comment is removed)
  • Click the X on the Add Comment toolbar to close
    the dialog box

Reporting Basics Highlighting Data
  • To highlight a row
  • Select the row of data that you want to
    highlight, click and select Highlight Row from
    the Context menu
  • You may highlight multiple rows
  • To highlight a value
  • Select the row of data that you want to
    highlight, click and select Highlight value from
    the Context menu
  • Highlight value is only applicable for one row

To get selection menu left click anywhere on
the data

Reporting Basics Calculating Data
  • Type of calculations
  • Count all counts the number of occurrences of
    the field
  • Count distinct counts the number of distinct
    values within the field

Reporting Basics Controlling Report Display
  • To Show/Hide Report Columns
  • Click the arrow in the heading of the column you
    want to hide and select Hide Column / Unhide
    Column from the menu
  • To Freeze Report Columns
  • Click the arrow in the heading of the column you
    want to hide and select Freeze Column from the
    menu. Only available when a report does not fit
    in the current window
  • To Control the Number of Records
  • Click the arrow in any column heading and then
    select Show Records and a value from the pop-out
    menu

Reporting Basics Controlling Report Display
To apply data visualization Click the arrow in
the heading of the column you want to visualize
and select Visualize from the menu. The
visualize option only appears for the numeric
columns

Reporting Basics Charts
You can view data in your Active Report as a
line, bar, scatter, or pie chart.
Viewing data as a Chart
  • The following figure illustrate a chart that was
    rendered from the data in the report. This is a
    pie chart that shows the sum of the values in the
    Vendor field by Account

Reporting Basics Saving Active Report
To Save Changes in an Active Report
  • Click the drop down arrow in column heading,
    select Save Changes. The Prompt dialog box opens
  • Enter appropriate file name and location and
    click Save Report
  • The report is save with the most recent
    modifications applied

Reporting Basics Exporting Active Report
  • To Export Data
  • Click the arrow in any column heading, select
    Export and then the format. (HTML, CSV XML)
  • Select All Records or Filtered only. The Save as
    dialog box opens
  • Navigate to a location to save the exported file,
    enter a name, and click Save

Reporting Basics Saving, Exporting and
E-Mailing Active Report
  • Click the arrow in the heading of a column and
    select Send as E-mail from the menu. The Prompt
    dialog box opens
  • Enter a file name and location (or keep the
    default) and click Save Report to save the HTML
    Active Report as a HTML document
  • If Microsoft Outlook is your default e-mail
    system, an e-mail is opened with the AHTML report
    as an attachment
