  • Pantomime is a Latin word.
  • Pantomime means all gestures used in support of

  • Pantomime revolves around character and plot, to
    tell a story.
  • Mime is a Greek word.
  • Mime means to imitate an activity.
  • Mimes main activity is movement and often
    performs one action.

  • Pantomime is the extended use of mime techniques
    to tell a story.
  • In pantomime you should show what is happening,
    not tell.
  • Mime is the silent acting of using body
    movements to create an illusion of reality.
  • To be a successful mime you must know how to do
    an action and why you do it.

  • Brush your teeth in front of the mirror.
  • Put on make up in front of the mirror.
  • Shave your face in front of the mirror.

Directions for pantomime skits
  • Make sure you have a beginning, middle and
    ending. Ex. Wake up, look in mirror, smell
    breath, decide to brush teeth, then proceed. The
    ending could be that you smell your clean breath
    then smile!
  • You should mentally visualize the size, shape,
    weight, shape and color of the items you use.
  • Make slow and deliberate actions.
  • You should count your steps.
