What do we need Wudu for?

• To Pray
• Sajdah Tilawa
• Touching the Quran

Touching the Quran

• You CAN Touch It
• If you have a separate cloth
• If Mus-haf has more English than Arabic

• You CANT Touch It
• If the cover is bound to the Quran
• With your own clothes

Recommended Wudus

• Wajib Tawaf of Kaba
• Recommended Book of knowledge
• For each Salah, Prophet (S) was very regular
  performing fresh wudu until last stage of his
  life
• Exit from the Khilaf of Ulam, this isnt for a
  common person but for the Imam.
• Go to bed- increase the barakah in your sleep.
• After every heedless (ghaflah) perform wudu,
  especially after a major sin (ex. Eyes)
• Wudu is not an independent Ibadah

Things that break the Wudu

• Urinary tract or rectal path
• After any impurity comes out of any part of the
  body
• Thin streak of blood does NOT break the wudu,
  blood has to flow.
• Question If you pop a pimple and blood comes
  out, does this break your Wudu?
• Losing sanity, consciousness, and intoxication
• Touching private parts without cloth

Masail Kufayn

• Seems contrary to the Qurans command to wash
  your feet
• Abu Hanifa says at first he didnt allow Mas-h
  until it came to me like the light of day when
  many ahadith came to him
• Over 80 Companions narrate in favor of Masail
  Kufayn
• Water resistant, able to walk 2-3 miles
• None of the four Madahib allow Mas-h over regular
  cotton socks
• If you are in a situation where you cant put
  your feet in the sink (school, work), then use a
  wet towel and at least two drops must fall from
  your feet

• What is a Jawrab?
• 3 hadeeth mention jawrab
• Bilal (R) recorded in al Mujam (weak)
• Abu Musa (R) recorded in Ibn Majah and Baihaqi
  (weak)
• Mughirah ibn Shubah recorded in Tirmidhi
• Last one, there is difference of opinion. It is
  potentially weak. All three do not have the
  strength to overturn the Quran

Conditions for Masah

• Lasts 24 hours for the muqeem, and 72 hours for
  the musaffir
• Clock beings ticking after hadath, when you break
  your wudu.
• When we do Masah over socks, if you think
  rationally we should be doing under the socks
  because thats where all the impurities are
• Example For wudu, when we pass gas, we wash all
  parts of our body but the part we passed the gas
  with.
• WHEN YOU BREAK MASAH
• Remove the socks
• Time Expires

But the Prophet (S) did it

• If people say the Prophet (S) did it, he usually
  did it while in the state of Wudu
• These are just single transmissions, they dont
  have the strength to overturn the Quran.

Questions

• If you touch a babys diaper, do you break your
  wudu?
• If a woman cashier gives you change and touches
  your hand, do you break your wudu?
• If you are holding gas in because you are lazy
  and dont want to make wudu and you pray, does
  your prayer count?
• How do you do wudu when you have a cast or
  bandage over a part of your body?
• Can we do Mas-h over a turban?
