Introduction

• The dictionarys first definition of the word
  fudge is nonsense or foolishness." And thats
  how our favorite chocolate candy got its name.

Story 1

• One day, the boss of a chocolate company
  received a package in the mail. The package
  contained cacao beans. He brought the cacao beans
  to work the next morning and asked one of the
  employees if he would crush them and use the
  powder in his special recipe. The employee tried
  it. When he was finished it produced a soft,
  gooey chocolate. The owner came back to see the
  finished product. He thought of a name for it.
  After a while he thought of the perfect name. The
  name that he chose was FUDGE.

• A story says that in the 1890s,a candy-maker
• in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was
  supervising his employees as they made caramels.
  Someone made a mistake and instead of producing a
  chewy candy, the batch turned into a finely
  crystallized, nonchewy substance." Fudge! the
  candy-maker swore. And with that exclamation to
  describe the mistake, fudge was born.
