• LAN-local area network
• Computers at school sites networked to a printer
• WAN-wide area network
• SISC/S online IEP application is on district WAN
• Schools networked to one another and to central
  offices
• World Wide Web - online IEP is not available on
  the Internet

• REMOTE ACCESS
• Using a modem to connect to the WAN
• dial-in to the district server (Ed Center) for
  direct access from home

Hardware minimums

• Macintosh
• Mac LC III with 32MB RAM, a 68030 processor, and
  1.5 MB hard drive space.
• PC
• Pentium processor with 120 MHz, 32MB RAM, Windows
  NT, 95 or 98 operating systems.

• Citrix Winframe client installed on your Mac

Paperwork Procedure

• Before the meeting
• Create a new IEP
• Cannot enter a future date in Date of this IEP
  meeting field, leave it blank
• Enter information including present levels,
  goals, etc.
• SAVE as you go

More Paperwork

• IEP record is LOCKED once you enter in the IEP
  Sign Date (Parent) - you may not make any
  further changes without creating an addendum,
  leave it blank until after meeting
• Print out IEP and take to meeting (Remember to
  bring a copy of the Procedural Safeguards to the
  IEP meeting.)

Paperwork, continued

• After the meeting
• Enter dates in all blank fields
• Enter any changes agreed to at the meeting
• Enter the IEP Sign Date (Parent)
• Send a completed copy of the IEP to Wiggin Center

Critical Reminders

• SAVESAVESAVE
• The program will quit automatically if you are
  not using it. Tip turn up the volume on your
  computer so you can hear the warning beeps that
  the program is about to quit.
