Step One-Downloading the Software (part two)
This page will be displayed. You will be
prompted to save the file WSFTP_HomeT128_Install.e
xe
Save the file and wait for the download to
complete.
Find the file where it was saved and open it,
then follow the directions to install the program.

Step Two-Customizing the Software (part one)
  • Now that the software has been installed, upon
the first use-it will ask you for some information

First, you will be asked to customize your FTP
site name-use whatever you see fit to use.

Step Two-Customizing the Software (part two)
  • Next, the program will ask what type of FTP you
have. Dont worry about this. Just select FTP.
  • Next, the program will ask you what the FTP
server address is. For Fairmont States FTP
    server, the address is ftp.fscwv.edu
  • Next, you will be prompted for a username and
password. This would be your UCA information
that you would use for WebCt or WebMail through
    Fairmont State.

6
Step Two-Customizing the Software (part three)
  • A screen will appear and ask you to confirm that
the information you have put in is correct.

Click Finish at this point if everything is

If you need to change the file folder or add a
new folder, click this (display is the same on
the FTP side also).
The left arrow button downloads files from the
FTP server to your computer
The right arrow button uploads files from your
computer to your FTP server.
Left hand column is your files that are on your
computer.
Right hand column is your files on your FTP site
that have been uploaded already.
Here is what the program will look like when it
is launched.

Step Three-Moving Files to the FTP Server
  • Find the file(s) you want to transfer to the FTP
site in the left hand column (basically a look at
Windows Explorer on your computer). Hint You
can hold control on the keyboard to select more
    than one file to upload.
  • Highlight the file in the left-hand column and
click the right green arrow button to upload the
    file(s).
  • In the bottom window (Information Window), it
will briefly display the files being uploaded and
their progress. Once completed you will hear a
sound and after a few seconds the files will
disappear from the Information Window. The files
will now display in the right hand column, as
they have been uploaded to the FTP server.
  • To view any files you have uploaded to the FTP
    server, just double click them.
