5Assignment Cover Sheets Must be completed and
attached to every assignment submitted to the
HSAS Office. Located next to assignment
submission boxes.
6Tips for Assignment Submission
- Ensure you are familiar with the plagiarism and
collusion rules. - Ensure you sign the declaration on your
assignment coversheet form. - You must keep a back up copy of your work until
the original has been assessed and returned to
you. - The Division of Student Life offers many
workshops on referencing and assignment writing
throughout the year.
7Tips for Assignment Collection
- When your assignment is returned from the
Lecturer a notice will be placed on DSO under the
faculty name and the Assignments for Collection
folder. - When collecting your assignment bring your ID
card with you and let us know the name of the
unit code your assignment belongs to.
8- Assignment Extensions
- If you need to apply for an extension for an
assignment you must collect a form from the HSAS
Office. - You must submit the application to the Unit Chair
for consideration. - The Unit Chair will notify you of the outcome of
your request. - When submitting your assignment you must attach
the signed copy of the extension form. - Extensions must be applied for well before the
submission date.
9Special Consideration
- Applications for Special Considerations should be
lodged online. - To access the application portal, log in to
Student Connect and click Special Consideration
on the left vertical (blue) menu. - Read all the information carefully and follow
the prompts to submit your application. - An application for Special Consideration must be
lodged no later than three (3) University working
days after the assessment items due date or the
date of a scheduled examination. - Applications without supporting documentation
will not be considered. - Students will also be able to view the status of
the application including the outcome, via the
online process
10Examinations
- Exams are held at the end of each Semester, with
a Supplementary/Special Exam period in August. -

special consideration. No allowances can be made
through misreading the timetable.

- Queries regarding Tutorials and Practicals for

Ti-Ming Boon in the HSAS Office at Burwood.
13STAR
- STAR (Student Timetable Allocation and
Registration) is Deakin University's personalised
timetabling system that allows students enrolled
in on-campus units to register online for
activity groups including lectures, tutorials,
seminars etc. -
