School Procedures and Policies

• Arrival Time doors open at 800
• Lunch Money collected on Mondays by teachers,
  all other days in office
• Jackets, boots, snow pants, etc. should be
  labeled

Assignment Notebook

• Assignment Notebooks are filled out together
  every night
• Parent/Guardian Please review and check that
  all work is completed before signing each night
• Check for notes and changes in schedule

Homework

• Approximately 30-45 minutes per night
• All work is due the next day unless otherwise
  noted
• Should be handed in upon arrival
• All assignments will be listed in the students
  assignment notebook
• All homework should come home in your childs
  take home folder

Late Homework

• If an assignment is one day late, the maximum
  grade received is 80
• Each day thereafter will result in a 10 drop in
  the students grade
• If parents or students dont understand the
  assignment, please write a note explaining and we
  will be more than happy to help
• Students will fill out a blue assignment card
  whenever they have late work - please sign and
  return this to school the next day

Corrections

• Corrections must be made on assignments receiving
  grades of 73 or below
• The original grade will remain the same
• Correcting ensures understanding
• Not changing the grade ensures high quality work

Friday Folders

• Work from the week will come home for you to look
  at each week in a Friday Folder
• Please review the work with your child
• Sign the slip and return folder with only the
  yellow slip inside

Weekly Newsletter

• Every Friday students will bring home a schedule
  of the next weeks events and upcoming tests
• A spelling list will also be included
• Please keep this in a safe place so you and your
  child can refer to it throughout the week

Spelling

• Words 3xs will be due on Wednesdays
• Workbook lessons will be due on Thursdays -
  usually the first three pages for each unit out
  of the WB
• Tests will be given on Fridays

Reading Calendars

• Each month students are given a reading calendar
  with the school lunch menu on the back
• Students are to read for 400 minutes each night
  write down minutes read and initial
• At the end of the month parents should sign the
  calendar and return to school

Classroom Discipline

• Positive behavior will be reinforced
• Students can earn funny money for various good
  behaviors they can also be fined for various
  reasons
• We use the chart with green, yellow, and red
  cards to monitor student behavior
• At the end of the day students will fill in on
  their calendar the color they are on

Power School

• The on-line tool that allows parents to
• access their childs grades
• view teacher comments
• read info. on the school bulletin
• check lunch money balance
• Grades will be updated once a week (Monday)

Academic Progress Reports

• Reports will be sent home at the end of the third
  and sixth week of each quarter
• Report cards will be sent home at the end of each
  quarter (Nine weeks)
• Please review the report with your child, sign
  and return to school

Safety Patrol

• All students who filled out the membership form
  and returned it are on Safety Patrol
• Students in Safety Patrol are responsible for
  recess duties each month
• Schedules are given to students each month and
  they are to fill out a calendar to keep track of
  their duties
• At the end of the year students who are still
  members will go on the Safety Patrol Trip to
  Wisconsin Dells

Safety Patrol Warnings

• Students who receive three warnings will be
  removed from Safety Patrol and therefore not be
  able to go on the trip
• Warnings can be given for such things as
  inappropriate behavior in or out of the
  classroom, 10 late assignments, not returning a
  warning slip, poor behavior for a substitute
  teacher, etc.
• An orange slip will be sent home each time your
  child receives a warning

• Sale is scheduled to run from Friday, September
  14th to Wednesday, October 3rd
• Checks should be made out to Belle Reynolds
• Money collected can be brought in at any time
