13Professional Staff Needs
- Additional professional positions needed!!!
- No new salary dollars since 1988
- Staffing has not kept pace with increase in
number of students, programs and research - More digital information requires development of
efficient methods of access
14Facility Needs
- 30 year old building not suited for needs of
today - Students are engaged in group study and
collaborative computer work - The changing activities of the library staff
require a repurposing of space
15Bottom Line
- The HSC Libraries current mission exceeds
ourcurrent resources.
16The Future
- todays medical libraries have unprecedented
opportunities to contribute to better quality and
efficiency in health care, education and
research. Those who support and lead medical
libraries should seize these opportunities. The
future is in their hands. - Donald A. B. Lindberg, M.D. and Betsy
