- Arrogance and ego blind people to both faults and
needs (Proverbs 1416 2612) - Reverence for God leads to repentance and
righteousness (Proverbs 17 Ecclesiastes 1213)

Do not be wise in your own eyes fear the LORD
and depart from evil. It will be health to your
flesh, and strength to your bones.

spiritual life, and to continual growth in
grace, as the umbilical cord is to life and

living gives support and strength to the soul.

- As a way to express gratitude to God, He
commanded Israel to honor Him with the first
fruits of all their crops and gain (Exodus 2229

Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with
the first fruits of all your increase so your
barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats
will overflow with new wine.

- We too must give to
- the Lord
- With love, liberality, and thankfulness

it! - We receive more than enough spiritual blessings

- Do not reject or take lightly the Lords
discipline, nor loathe or abhor His rebuke (Job
517) - Through teaching, testing, commanding, God
disciplines His children (Hebrews 125,6)
My son, do not despise the chastening of the
LORD, nor detest His correction for whom the
LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son
in whom he delights.

Proverbs 311,12
- Requirements
- Too many balk at His commands.
- Too many wilt under trials.
- Too many surrender to the world.
- Too many reject His rebuke.
My son, do not despise the chastening of the
LORD, nor detest His correction for whom the
LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son
in whom he delights.
