Format of exam
  • Time period. You will write a paragraph  (1/2 to
    3/4 page) briefly describing French culture,
    history and society during a specific period (see
    below).
  • Identification. This section will be longer than
    the mid-term. You will be asked to write 2-3
    sentences about a selection of the key terms
    listed below at the beginning of  each class
    powerpoint presentation (available under "course
    documents" on Blackboard).
  • Short answer. Simple questions about your
    classmates presentations. If you were there and
    listened, you should be able to answer these
    easily. Worth 5-10 points.
  • Mini-essays. You will be asked to write 2 short
    (1/2 to 3/4 page each) essays about key French
    cultural symbols that we have read about and
    discussed. See below for symbols and key terms.
