Wet Weather Gear
An attached PEAK HOOD helps to keep water off
your face
A 2-way zip that comes up past the neck to
protect the face from the elements
It should have no lining material or ONLY a thin
mesh material. This is so the user does not get
too hot when undertaking physical activity and to
enable the jacket to dry quickly. Be aware that
cotton linings are dangerous because wet cotton
draws body heat away from the person making them
cold and susceptible to hypothermia.
A heavy-duty zip is covered by a Velcro flap or
press-studs creating less chance for the wind and
water to get through.
Arm length is sufficient to fully enclose the
hand in the jacket to protect from the cold
Mid-thigh length to stop water from wetting the
main part of the body and thus offer greater
protection from the wind . Short jackets will
require the constant use of overpants as well.
