Promotion
  • Earned at least eleven (11) credits including 2
    credits of language arts and 2 credits of math,
    as well as remedial reading and math for students
    scoring Level 1 or 2 on the FCAT Reading the
    previous to be classified as a junior.
  • Must take remediation classes until FCAT is
    passed.
  • Must meet or exceed passing score of 300 in
    Reading and Math on 10th grade FCAT to graduate.
  • Earn at least seventeen (17) credits to be
    classified as a senior next year.

Important Tidbits from Admission Directors
  • Apply as early as July/August. Many qualified
    students were not accepted last year because they
    waited too long
  • Minimum required courses is not enough colleges
    recalculate GPA
  • Senior year schedule is very, very important!!
  • Dual Enrollment Community college credit has an
    impact on college acceptance anything less than
    2.0 will rescind college acceptance
  • Colleges are looking at SAT/ACT Writing scores
    this year
  • AP/IB Classes still need good test scores and
    GPA
  • Selective Process - there is NO guarantee (GPA,
    test scores, etc) all students MUST have backup
    plan!
  • Apply early!

  • NOTE If you plan to be a candidate for a Bright
    Futures scholarship, you MUST take the SAT or ACT
    and earn qualifying scores even if starting out
    at community college

  • Different from Community College
  • Curriculum is very specific
  • Culinary, Auto Mechanics, etc.
  • Some may have entry requirements
  • Start researching!
  • Credits usually do not transfer to a four year
    program
