BASIC ATTITUDE

• From the beginning God wanted His people to show
  gratitude.
• Every story that involves ingratitude has a bad
  end. For example, Lots lack of appreciation to
  Abraham and Sarah.
• It is not an attitude that we naturally have. It
  must be taught in the family and in the church or
  we expect much and give thanks seldom.

SHOULD PERMEATE OUR WORSHIP

• Make a joyful shout to the Lord.
• Serve Him with gladness.
• Come before His presence with singing.
• Sing from the heart Ephesians 519
• Psalms
• Hymns
• Spiritual songs
• Offer the sacrifice of praise giving thanks to
  God Hebrews 1315

FOR THE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

• Know that the Lord is God
• He made us. We didnt create ourselves.
• We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
• As an act of gratitude to Him we offer ourselves
  as a living sacrifice to Him refusing to be
  conformed to the world, but transformed into His
  image. Romans 121,2
• Everything belongs to Him. We are stewards of
  what He gives us.

ENTER HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING

• Notice the image is of one coming to the gates of
  the Lord. The key to enter is thanksgiving.
• No wonder we are challenged to give thanks in
  everything I Thessalonians 518
• Instead of worrying we are to pray with
  thanksgiving Philippians 46
• Ingratitude begins our trip away from God
  Romans 120-21

GREAT REASONS FOR GRATITUDE

• Be thankful to Him and bless His name.
• For the Lord is good
• His mercy is everlasting
• His truth endures to all generations.
• Certainly we have problems and things go wrong in
  this life.
• But if you focus on the blessings from God
• All of your life will have greater meaning
• You will find peace and joy in the Lord.
