7Project 1 3 Digital Types
- Adjust and correct 2 photos provided by
instructor correct errors, brightness,
cropping, color, file size, contrast, etc. - Take 1 digital image with digital camera good
subject quality and placement must contain at
least 2 graphics and some text! - Scan at least 2 photos to create 1 image (ex.
Faces, animals, flowers, clouds, athletes,
night/day, ocean/mts./beach/fields). You must
present scanned sources as well. - ALL images must look professional!
- ALL images will be printed!
8Project 2 Poster/Flyer Design
- Identify one Teacher or Staff here at Cary
Academy, or a group, to design a poster / flyer
for - Must be something the person or people requested
- Can be fictitious but approved by me
- Must provide digital photos, lines of text and a
couple of graphics - Must be an informative advertisement
- Must make use of entire 8.5 x 11 area or greater
(but you supply larger paper) - Color Scheme, layout and design are very
important - Keep in mind scanned artistic work counts
- Examples of clients a teacher, a department, a
club, a sport, an event, school leader/director
(student/staff/faculty) and so on - Ideas with rough sketches must be presented to me
no later than 1 class day after date assigned
for approval to assure you have plenty of time - Project ideas without the above step will not be
recognized, so get my approval 1st by email or
in class (you can scan your ideas to mail them to
me if you choose this route) - This project must be more elaborate than the
first, making good use of your own digital
photography
9Project 2 Option 2 Magazine Design
- Option two for Project 2
- Using the same requirements, design a cover page
and 2 additional pages (one article layout and
one advertisement page) for your very own
magazine. You are the publisher/editor-in-chief/wr
iter/creator of the magazine. Obviously, a bit
more work is involved, so youll have to come up
with a few more images and photos and text. Your
ideas must get approval by the same time as the
first option.

MUST do the following Create a sketch to turn

100 Your Own Work! Photograph Oriented
Obviously! Most, but not all, of the photos must
be your own work! Include Information of your
Services / Potential Clients Include what you are
and what you do Include who your clients
are Include where you are (local? Regional?
Global?) Include when you are open/hours and
days Include why you are (what got you
started/your reason) Include how you are (company
history/growth/beginning) Include examples of
your own digital photo work!
CHOOSE ONE Brochure - paper use max 2
sheets - minimum folds required 1 fold
Pamphlet - paper use max 1 sheet - minimum
fold required 2 folds Think about how the folds
will affect your work. All sections resulting
from your folds must have a considerable amount
of your own art/artistic text/text on it EXCEPT
for blind spots. If you need to examples
again, just ask.
