3Activity Cut the sentences below apart. Glue
them on construction paper. Notice how they are
the same length and begin in the same way.
Revise these sentences to make them more
diverse Make some shorter, some longer, add
shorter sentences, combine some, change the
beginnings, etc. Compare and Contrast the old
sentences to the new ones created by you. Most
dogs hate taking a bath. Dogs have to be bathed.
Dogs fight having to be in a bath. Dogs have to
be brushed, too. Soap and water are needed for
baths. Sometimes, dogs need a flea dip. After a
bath, dogs smell better. Dogs are softer to touch
after a bath Dogs dont scratch as much after a

4 Most dogs hate taking a bath, but they really
have to in order to stay clean. They hate it so
much, that they will fight you so they dont have
to take one. To give them a bath you need soap,
water, and sometimes flea dip so they dont
scratch as much. After you give them a bath, you
have to brush them so their hair and skin is
