Snowy owls live in the Arctic. They have feathers
from head to toe to keep them warm. They are
white to keep them blended in.

Snowy Owl have good eye sight for catching food.

These are 2 pictures of a baby Snowy owl just
hatching and taking its first nap.

They have 50 inch wings to glide up high. They
are 20 to 27 inches tall. They weigh 3.5 to 4.5
pounds.

It lays 10 egg at a time. They have more babies
when there are more lemmings for food. The boy
brings back food while the mom is with the babies.

They have a black beak and feathers are around
the mouth. They have a round head and yellow
eyes.

They eat lemmings, rodents, ducks, geese, and
ptarmigans. Their enemies are the arctic wolf
and arctic fox.
