Title: Who is Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu

1
Who is Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu ?
2
Praying for the Lord to appear !
Advaita Acarya was a contemporary of Lord
Caitanyas father. He felt sorry for the
condition of the world because even after Lord
Krishnas appearance, no one had interest in
devotional service to Krishna. This
forgetfulness was so overwhelming that Advaita
Prabhu was convinced that no one but Lord Krishna
Himself could enlighten people about devotional
service to the Supreme Lord. Therefore Advaita
requested Lord Krishna to appear as Lord
Caitanya. Offering tulasi leaves and Ganges
water, He cried for the Lords appearance.
3
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is none other than the
combined form of Sri Radha Krishna
Radha and Krishna are one, and when Krishna
desires to enjoy pleasure, He manifests Himself
as Radharani
4
  • The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri
Krishna, desiring to understand the mood of his
topmost devotee, appeared as Sri Caitanya
    Mahaprabhu.
  • Taking on the mood and the golden complexion
of Srimati Radharani, Lord Caitanya exhibited the
transcendental love as shown by Srimati Radharani
and distributed it to all without discrimination.
  • Thus Lord Caitanya inaugurated the hari-nama
sankirtan the chanting of the Lords holy name

5
  • The Lords holy name is so powerful that it is
actually emphasized in all religions !!!
  • A practical example of this was shown by Lord
Caitanya Mahaprabhu when He was traveling through
the forests of Jharikhanda in central India for
    spreading His sankirtana movement.
  • The tigers, the elephants, the deer and all the
other wild animals joined Him and were
participating, in their own ways, by dancing and
    chanting Hare Krishna.

6
  • Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared to teach us
conditioned souls how to approach Krishna in a
    practical way.
  • Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted us to come to a
point as emphasized in His Siksastaka prayers
When will my eyes be decorated with tears of
love flowing constantly when I chant Your holy
name? When will my voice falter and all the hairs
on my body stand erect in transcendental
happiness as I chant Your holy name?
