• A major advantage Can be dynamically updated.

Virtual ISSCC Conference

• Overview presented by Tim Tredwell
• Pubs committee views this an important initiative
  to continue.
• Should be a society initiative esp. in view that
  Xplorer revenue goes to the society. Emerging
  areas would esp. benefit.
• Motion ISSCC will reduce its surplus by 50K
  from 300K to 250K and the Society to budget the
  remaining 100K as a special initiative.

Journal of Display Technology

• Joint publication of IEEE and the Optical Society
  3 year history.
• Within IEEE there are 8 Societies that are
  co-sponsors including SSCS.
• Charlie Sodini has been the SSCS rep on the
  Steering Committee for the past three years.
• Nominated Prof. Tayo Akinwande to be the new SSCS
  rep on the Steering Committee
• Motion to Adcom That SSCS continue its support
  of this Journal for the next 3 years est. total
  cost lt15K for the 3 year period (up to 5K per
  year). Historical Budetary Info Total cost to
  SSCS 2004-07 approx. 14.5K total for the 4 yr
  period.

Other items

• Quality of Xplorer search engine results is
  lacking. A possible solution is to utilize the
  Google Search Appliance. Forward to TAB for
  discussion.
