• The state capitol of Maryland is Annapolis.
• Maryland became a state in the year of 1788 on
  April, 28.
• A very popular city in Maryland is Baltimore.
  Baltimore is Marylands largest city.

State Bird -

• The state bird of Maryland is the Baltimore
  oriole. It is black and yellow like the flag of
  Maryland. They eat fruits, seeds, and insects,
  and build their nests out of plants, twigs, and
  bark.

State Flower -

• Marylands state flower is a Black-eyed Susan. It
  is black and yellow and looks like a sunflower,
  but smaller. It is about as small as a daisy.

• The state tree of Maryland is the white oak, also
  called the stave oak. A stave is one of the slats
  in a wooden barrel. This tree is known for making
  tight barrels that wouldnt leak.
