Title: RESOLVING INNER CONFLICTS

1
RESOLVING INNER CONFLICTS
  • Gods solution to destructive, contradictory
    behaviour

2
The destructive, two-way spiral of inner
hurt and outer harm
3
Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard
for you to resist what your heart tells you
is true. Acts 2614
  • Oxen that refused to move were prodded with a
sharp rod. When sinners resist the truth God
prods their conscience. They react by hurting
    others, without really knowing why.
  • An encounter with the Lord surfaces the deep
conviction that is the root cause of harmful
    attitudes and actions.

4
  • Does everyone have a Damascus Road
conversion see the Light and end up
down on their face in the dust?
  • The dramatic power experienced in a
Moment of Truth is often proportional
to the resistance a person has exhibited.
  • The spiral of destructive behaviour
must end where it first began at
    the original point
    of resistance.
  • In Sauls case, this was Stephens
    witness and martyrdom.
    (Acts 754-60 91-3)

5
  • Theres nothing like the face of an angel
to stir up the heart of a devil! (Acts
    615)
  • No one makes you angrier than a person who
tells you the truth about yourself.
    (Acts 751-54)
  • Nothing makes you more dangerous than hearing
that you were wrong all along! (Acts
    755-58)
  • Because of Stephens witness Saul
would later become the Apostle Paul,
    but between Conviction and Conversion
he would hurt himself and others.

6
  • I was a slanderer, a persecutor, a violent man,
but I obtained mercy, because I
    acted ignorantly, in unbelief.
  • (1 Timothy 113 John 162)
  • Are you aware of what you are doing?
    Conversion to Christ will resolve
    your inner contradictions.
  • Jesus Christ can stop that destructive
spiral and resolve your inner conflict.
