Koi

• Cold, clear water fish
• Omnivorous, eat almost anything
• Even peas, lettuce, and watermelon
• Eat very little in temperatures below 50o F
• Food may go rancid in their stomachs and make
  them sick
• Can grow up to an inch/month given optimum
  conditions

• Oxygen-more than 5 ppm
• Ammonia-less than 0.1 ppm
• Nitrites-less than 0.2 ppm
• Nitrates-less than 50 ppm
• pH-6.5 -9
• Alkalinity-50 - 170 ppm
• Hardness-75 - 150 ppm
• Salinity-0.1 - 0.3
• Phosphates-algae blooms
• Copper-less than 0.1 ppm

Tilapia

• About 100 species
• Nile, Nile-Blue Hybrids, and Rocky Mountain
  White are most commonly raised
• Prefer warm water love duckweed (best grown in a
  separate tank), also filter algae from the water
• ¼ lb of fish per gallon
• From fingerling to eating size in 6-8 months

Silver Perch

• 2-4 pounds, can get up to 16 lbs
• Not well known what they eat small
  invertebrates, some small fish and vegetation
• Like warmer water 20-30o C
• Can grow to about a pound in 12 months
