• Ancient Egypt started 5,500 years ago .

• There are 3 pyramids at Giza
• Giza is on the west side of the Nile River
• The pyramids at Giza are lined up just like
  Orions Belt in the night sky

• Pyramids are where gods that die get buried. They
  thought they would go to another world called the
  After life and they would take clothes food and
  slaves with them

The river nile
The Nile river is the longest river in the world.
It flows south to north. The Nile river flows
into the Mediterranean sea. It used to flood
regularly and the farmers liked this because it
gave them rich soils to plant their crops in.

Tutankcarmoon
Tutankhamen

• Tutankhamun died 3000 years ago.
• Tutankhamen was buried in the valley of the
  kings.
• On the heart of Tutankhamen there was a scarab
  beetle.
• Tutankhamun was very famous because he had all of
  his gold in his tomb and all the other Pharaohs
  there tombs were robbed by tomb raiders.
• The person that found Tutankhamen was called
  Howard Carter.

Valley of the kings

• The valley of the kings are where some of the
  kings where buried.
• There was a pharaoh that thought she was a boy
  but she was a girl and she was berried in the
  valley of the kings she was called Hatshepsut.

Flooding in the Nile river

• The Egyptians measure the Nile river by a
  Nileometer
• When the river Nile flooded, it was called
  Inundation.
• The Nile river went into the Mediterranean sea it
  split up into a delta.
• The farmers farm when the floods go down

• Shabtis are buried with the pharaohs that die
• Shabtis were used as slaves in the afterlife.
