Origins

• A simpler relative of the Frog game. Where rings
  were tosses at a brass frog on a table into holes
  for different points.
• Much simpler without any
• obstacles, only one aiming point.

What you need

• A Toad in the Hole table
• 15x24 table, the playing surface slopes towards
  the players. A 2 inch hole in the middle through
  which the toads can fall.
• Toads
• or disks, at least four of them to toss into the
  hole
• about one inch in diameter
• traditionally made from brass
• other materials such as hardwood or rubber can be
  used
• In some versions, players simply throw coins at
  the board.
• Also a cribbage board to keep score

To Play

• Coin is tossed to see who goes first
• Player Stands at 8 feet from the board
• Toss Toads aimed at the hole
• 3 points for every toad made and 1 point for
  landing the toad on the table.
• Played to exactly 31, any points over 31 are
  deducted from score.
• If all four are made in succession he/she is the
  outright winner

To The Playground

• Has been adapted to a playground or children's
  game
• A Hoop is placed on the ground and a ball or bean
  bag is tossed in the same matter.
• Score by getting ball/bag into hoop
• Lands on edge of hoop 3 points
• Lands in hoop but bounces out 5 points
• Lands and stays 10 points
• Team with most points after a minute wins
