Points of Discussion

• Data (or the critical lack of it!)- what data?
  trophic level, key species, varied units ???-
  O2 - target the Eq. Pacific in the next 5-10 yrs
  with new sensors on existing platforms (ARGO
  floats)- TL2 and TL3, 0-700m - target the
  mid-trophic level spatial and temporal
  distribution using acoustic probes (eg
  Mid-trophic Automatic Acoustic Sampler (MAAS))

• Redfield-type models have gone
  past their sell by date ???
• Is the approach correct for the new multinutrient
  global models?
• Is variable stochiometry globally computable?

• PFTs parametrisation
• 1 functional group 1-2 species !!!Does
  predation define a PFT ???
