Sexual Harassment

• Definition of Sexual Harassment is
• A form of sex discrimination that involves
  unwelcome sexual advances , requests for sexual
  favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a
  sexual nature.

Air Force Policy of Sexual Harassment

• What do you, the audience, think that the
  tolerance level is for the Air Force???
• ANSWER Zero Tolerance!!!!!

The Supervisors Responsibility

• As the audience what are your opinions that a
  supervisor should do when confronted with a
  sexual harassment complaint???
• Every complaint of sexual harassment should be
  investigated
• The commander or supervisor is obligated to
  investigate ALL charges of sexual harassment
  regardless of previous inability to substantiate
  a members complaint

• Unprofessional
• It could be perceived as sexual harassment,
  favoritism, or fraternization
• Rumors become a reality- starting rumors may also
  be a from of sexual harassment
• Senior person present should inform everyone that
  spreading rumors is sexual harassment

• Senior person should also approach the SSgt and
  discuss how the incident appeared to onlookers,
  and the policies on sexual harassment

• The colonel should not dismiss the captains
  complaints regardless of his relationship with
  the lieutenant colonel
• Air Force has a ZERO tolerance policy, so the
  incident must he reported
• Condoning the situation is also sexual harassment
• The captain should take her complaint to the next
  senior officer in the chain of command

• Physical unwanted touching (warm fuzzes)
• Repeatedly asking people out on dates
• Condoning
• Verbal, nonverbal, and physical sexual harassment
