dog in the livestock category.

• There was the demonstration resisting
  against the policy for dog meat legalization in
  front of Seoul City-Hall.

• March 26, 2008
• On and off line works for sending the
  written petitions to the mayor of Seoul City was
  started.

• April 20, 2008
• In the event of the Day of Earth, a
  protest demonstration against the legalization of
  dog meat was held in front of Oh Se-Hoon, the
  mayor of Seoul City. Also a man demonstration
  was progressed every day in front of Seoul
  City-hall.

• April 23, 2008
• 3rd protest visit to Food Safety Department
  of Seoul City

• May 24 July 5, 2008
• We launched 4 campaigns for vegetarianism
  and against dog meat.

• July 18, 2008
• The demonstration against the sanitary
  check-up of dog meat by Seoul City was opened.

• July 19, 2008
• The demonstration against dog meat was held
  in front of Seoul City-Hall.

• July 27, 2008
• The demonstration against dog meat was held
  in front of Moran Market at Sungnam City, the
  largest dog meat market in Korea.

• July 29, 2008
• The campaign against dog meat and for the
  expansion of vegetarianism was held at Myungdong
  in Seoul City.

• August 8, 2008
• The demonstration against dog meat was held
  in Seoul city.

The results
We received an official answer from the mayor of
Seoul City Seoul City will perform the sanitary
check-up as per the plan However, it would be
absent from legalization of dog meat.
Still, this does NOT mean Seoul City will give up
the policy of legalization

Rather Korean government is playing a role in the
legalization of dog meat by regular sanitary
check-up of dog meat the declaration of dog
butchery facilities, etc.
