Technology Course of Study
  • Alabama Course of Study for Technology adopted in
    2002.
  • Shelby County Course of Study for Technology
    adopted in 2003.

3
Technology Course of Study
  • Regular classroom teachers are expected to
integrate the Technology Course of Study as part
    of their regular curriculum.
  • Shelby County will be monitored by the State
Department of Education in May, 2004.

4
How can I implement this?
  • In Shelby County, DATA Trainer teachers from each
school are currently developing materials to
assist classroom teachers in implementing the
    course of study.
  • These materials include handouts, videos, web
pages, PowerPoint presentations, lesson plans and
other materials to assist classroom teachers.

5
Where can I find these materials?
  • Completed materials have been posted on the
Shelby County Schools web site at Shelby County
    Schools, Alabama.
  • This page is being updated weekly and will
    contain resources for each objective.

6
What should I be doing?
  • You are already covering many of the objectives
from the technology course of study in your
    classes.
  • When you cover items from the technology course
of study, document the objectives in your lesson
    plans.

7
Keep up the good work!
  • Many of the objectives in the technology course
of study are things that you have been doing in
your classrooms for a long time.
  • Remember to document what you are doing since as
we all know, if it is not documented, it never
    happened!
